Unity-Peace-Love

The recent events in North Africa and the Middle East, the attack of the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, the mass riots, the burning of USA flags, are very disturbing. Certainly, the USA government/military is partially to blame. As Jason Nellis points out at http://libertarianreview.us/2012/09/13/how-to-prevent-embassy-attacks-and-terror-gary-johnsons-statement/ “We saw how we bred anti-American terrorists with our decades of intervention from Iran-Contra to the Iran-Iraq war (when we helped Iraq), to the Mujahideen and the Taliban (when we helped the Afghans against the Russians) to Al Qaeda, which we’ve all trained and provoked via the CIA, to selling arms to Saddam Hussein and training Osama bin Laden, to Somalia and Lebanon, to the recent revolutions in which we funded and sold arms to “rebel” (Al Qaeda, even acknowledged on FOX) terrorists from Egypt to Libya to… “. The USA should not be interfering with other countries so much, it usually comes back to bite us. A small percentage of people (some in government/military/intelligence(spys)/rich elite/media) are instigators of instability, for their own greedy purposes of power and control. This does not represent the wills of the USA people, who mostly want to live in peace with the world.

On the other hand, the Mideast Arabs/Muslims are very quick to anger, violence, and riots in the streets. They get angry about an obscure anti-Islam video, produced by an ex-con, in obscurity. Most in USA probably have not seen it. I agree that people should not slander or ridicule Religions, but USA is a very free & liberal society, which has its pros, and also its cons. There are many global media attacks on other religions (Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism), but does this cause people to violence? Look at the popular book and film “Da Vinci Code”, with the theory that the Merovingian kings of France were descendants from the bloodline of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene.

What’s the main problem? Divisiveness, groups, and gangs. People divided by their religions, it’s ridiculous! The purpose of all religions should only be to bring world happiness & peace, anything else is corruption. If your religion is preaching violence, there’s a problem. Other bad gangs: sexism (man vs woman), racism (white vs black), politics (liberal vs conservative), etc. The list is long! Stop the madness!

What’s the solution? Unity, peace and love! The vast majority of people want peace and harmony. Try to make decisions based not upon ‘what’s profitable for me’, but ‘what’s good for all’. Thanks for reading, let’s do & pray for a beneficial future of our world.

Where’s the Justice?

What has happened to the Justice System in the USA? I’m tired of seeing big criminal trials become media circus fiascoes. The media coverage in big trials creates a business out of crime. Criminals can profit from victims’ suffering, by selling interviews, photos, books, film rights later. Spectators following the trials become addicted and obsessed by the twisted circumstances. Confidential info is exposed, and can lead to a wrong verdict. Stop the madness!

The 1995 O. J. Simpson murder trial was the first big televised court case, a real disgusting display of a media circus. Because of so much publicity before and during the trial, it’s likely that a guilty man was not convicted, although he was held liable at the 1997 civil trial. It is estimated that 100 million people worldwide watched or listened to the verdict and $40 billion of work productivity was lost from employees following the case. Some evidence against Simpson was not presented at the trial because the witnesses sold their stories to the media. Other prominent media circus cases are the trials of Gary Gilmore (1977), Martha Stewart (2004), and Casey Anthony (2010). Dr. Ronald B. Standler, an Attorney in Massachusetts, has a very compelling essay against Pretrial Publicity.

Who’s to blame? The Media mostly, publishers of Television, Newspapers, Magazines, and Books. These big trials bring them big profits, and they spend more time and effort on them than more important news. The history of ‘Yellow Journalism‘ in the USA goes back to the late 1800’s.

I remember when cameras and photos were forbidden in court, only artists were permitted to draw sketches. How did we go from that to live television!? Let’s bring back some dignity to the Justice System by keeping TV out of the Courtroom. Stop the madness!
